Islands

Dotted around the perimeter of the Scottish Mainland, the Scottish Islands are home to a growing number of malt whisky distilleries. The whiskies produced on the islands are dramatically varied in style, and do not really have a ‘signature regional character’. On the one hand, Tobermory is light and delicate whereas Talisker is pungent, coastal and smoky. Whisky is currently produced on Arran, Jura, Mull, Orkney, Skye and the Outer Hebrides (Islay is treated as a separate region).
