The Scottish Highlands covers more than half of the country, making it Scotland’s largest and most diverse whisky region. Stretching from the suburbs of Glasgow to the north east coast, the Highlands is home to a wide range of whisky styles. Highland whiskies can be light and fruity (eg. Tullibardine, Glengoyne, Aberfeldy, Dalwhinnie), rich and full bodied (eg. Dalmore, GlenDronach, Tomatin), sometimes coastal (eg. Oban; Old Pulteney), and occasionally pungent and smoky (eg. Ardmore).
